Fourteen churches were present for a quorum.

SCRIPTURE AND PRAYER: Chris Robeson, Moderator, Minister, Coulter Road Baptist Church opened meeting with prayer and scripture from Colossians 1:28.
BUSINESS:
Would the person making or seconding any motion please state their name and the church from which they have been elected as an Executive Board member.
Also if you are making a motion or have the floor for discussion, please come to the microphone.
l. MOTION: Wes Langham, Layman, First Baptist Church, Amarillo made motion seconded by Danny Logan, Pastor, Bell Avenue Baptist Church to approve minutes of the Annual Board Meeting, October 3, 2011 (attached hereto and in the Associational Office).
Motion Carried.
II. FINANCIAL REPORT: Don Max Vars, Chairman Budget and Finance Committee and Layman First Baptist Church, Canyon gave the Financial Report. Motion from committee to approve the Financial Report, requiring no second.
Motion Carried.
OLD BUSINESS:
AD – Hoc Committee: Dick Gravely, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Claude reported committee is working and they will have a full report next Executive Board Meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. MISSION DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL:
Bryan Houser, Mission Coordinator, AABA,
Amarillo, Texas.
Bryan reported on Pastor Jim Gose, Grand Avenue Baptist Church and Earl Harkins, layman, Frio Baptist Church. He then prayed for their healing and their families.
Bryan then reported on Experience Missions 2012 to be held at Wayland Baptist University in lieu of the Pastor’s Conference. He encouraged everyone to mark their calendars for Saturday, April 21st to be in Plainview at Wayland to participate in the Mission Conference.
a. HPRC Scholarship Guidelines: Bryan then brought recommendation and second from Mission Development Council to approve the HPRC Scholarship Guidelines as circulated. (Attached hereto and on file in Associational Office.)
2. Property and Grounds Committee:
Bryan then brought recommendation and second from Property and Grounds Committee to approve High Plains Retreat Center lease as circulated. Other than spelling and grammar corrections the main changes from last lease was that this is a five year lease as opposed to two year lease, 2012-2017.
III. Reports:
Jenny Cummings, AC BSM, reported that the new semester is off to a good start with lots of new faces attending BSM events and they are working hard on Beach Reach and several other mission endeavors.
Buddy Young – WTAMU BSM, reported they had a great mission trip to China over the Christmas holidays and their spring semester is off to a good start also. He reported they need some help with their international lunch as the lady that has been doing it, is no longer able to do so. Angela Banks, WTAMU intern also reported on Impact WT which is a program to share Christ with numerous students at WT. She asked we pray for the students getting ready to go on mission trips.
Jeff Parsons, Amarillo Mercy Ministries was unable to be at meeting but his report is attached and God is working in his ministries as well.
John Landon, President, High Plains Retreat Center Board gave special recognition to Donnie Boyd as past president of the Board and thanked him for his service and his willingness to stay on the Board.
He then recognized Billy Joe and Suzy Wall for their hard work and support of the campgrounds for the past eight years. He also reported Billy Joe is resigning as camp manager as he feels God is calling him in a different direction. He also reported two zip lines have been added at the camp ground. Several of the cabins were redone this summer. First Baptist Church, Amarillo and Paramount Baptist Church gave their cabins to the campground so now all the cabins are owned by Amarillo Area Baptist Association. He thanked everyone for their support whether it is financial or manual labor.
Billy Joe Wall thanked everyone for letting him be a part of the campground and that his heart is still there and he will still be a part whenever he can.
Mike Garman, Pastor, Eastridge Baptist Church then reported on Hope Welcome Center. He thanked everybody for all their financial support as well as those that bring meals, do devotions, and work at whatever needs to be done.
They are starting a Hearts for Hope club to help stabilize the finances at the Center.
They want to get churches involved the Sunday before Valentine’s Day and designate a special offering for Hope Welcome Center on that day every year.
Paul Dunn reminded everyone to remember the Hunger Offering.
IV. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:
Bryan Houser, Missions Coordinator, AABA, reported there has been some discussion about moving Executive Board Meeting to a noon meeting instead of a night time meeting. After some discussion, Dick Gravely, Pastor First Baptist Church Claude, made a motion to move the meeting to a noon meeting. Danny Logan, Pastor, Bell Avenue Baptist Church seconded. After more discussion, motion was made to postpone until next Executive Board Meeting to give people a chance to think about motion. Motion to postpone was made by Leslie Redwine, Layman, First Baptist Church, Claude and seconded by Paul Dunn, Pastor, Bethel Baptist Church, Canyon.
V. MOTION TO ADJOURN:
Motion to adjourn was made by Wes Langham, Layman, First Baptist Church, Amarillo seconded by J. D. Swinford, Layman, First Baptist Church, Canyon.
The next meeting will be the Executive Board meeting April 16, 2012 at Eastridge Baptist Church, Amarillo, Texas
